STEP-BY-STEP REGISTRATION GUIDE FOR NEW ATHLETES

First, you must join one of the APSOC clubs. Go to the list of clubs and their nominated contacts to get started on this.

Second, download the Introduction of Athlete and Athletics Victoria forms, and complete each of them.

Third, forward both completed forms to your club contact or the person who is introducing you to the competition. You must do this by the Thursday prior to your first race, as there is a deadline for new athlete registrations of 6.00 pm that day. If you miss the deadline, you may still compete, but only by invitation.

Fourth, on race day, report to the custodian of the new runners’ race tags and (if you are aged over 18) pay your $30 registration/joining fee. You will then receive your race tag which allows you to race. Athletes aged under 18 may simply collect their tags.

NOTES:

  1. Please note that once you have registered, you are registered for life. You only follow the registration procedure once. It is not necessary to repeat the procedure for each new season.
  2. It is the responsibility of the person introducing you to submit your form by the specified deadline to fax number 9419 5229. You cannot submit the form because it must be counter-signed by the introducer.
  3. Invitation athletes must follow the same procedure, with the exception that they are not required to join an APSOC club.
  4. Registration/joining fees become payable by junior athletes upon turning 18.
  5. Your club will probably charge you a further membership fee. The amount of that fee will be fixed by your club.
