31 January 2010 CALENDAR ONLINEAPSOC has finalised its race calendar for 2010. As usual, the six premiership teams races are spread evenly over the season, commencing with the traditional season opener, the Jamieson 5k at Scotch College on 10 April. The APSOC races are spaced so as to allow Athletics Victoria members to compete in all XCR '10 events. Athletes are asked to note the races where they are required to contribute to afternoon tea. 31 January 2010 NEW EXECUTIVEDavid Sneddon (OX) has joined the APSOC committee to replace the outgoing Ashley Peacock (OH). Andrew Scott (OH) has moved into the Vice President's role, replacing Alan Rowe (OC), who has accepted a general committee position. |

31 January 2010 ADIDAS CHALLENGE PRIZESDetails have been announced for the Adidas 5k Challenge, which is an event for both APS school students and APSOC members to be held at Haileybury College in Berwick on 17 April. Adidas is sponsoring the event and will award $200 product vouchers to twelve lucky students. The will also be $200 vouchers for the fastest male and female APSOC runners, and the winner of a random draw from all APSOC finishers. |
31 January 2010 NEW APSOC AWARDSAt the AGM held in November 2009, delegates agreed to introduce a number of new awards. For the first time, the Association will recognise the fastest female marathon performance in either the Victorian or Australian Championships. There will also be new awards for male and female Athletes of the Year in the over 40 and over 50 age groups. |
